Thank you for inviting me into the league - it has not been my best league for sure!!!- taking over a depleted jays who have been racked with injuries over the last couple years - coupled with a bad trade I made last year ---- has made it very tough to compete and do the league justice.
Add to that a couple rude and crude owners who spout off at the mouth at any offer without reading the offer or asking questions -- or just want one sided deals they know lesser market teams are forced into a position to make - just to survive - it makes it unpleasant and no fun.
So with that I put in my resignation - sorry it is late but still before FA --- but with some roster drops, aquisitions and a few adds and a decent trade or two and some luck this year - the Jays may finally make it out of the cellar this year - I would have loved to have tried but it was not meant to be.
Again, thank you for letting me play with you the last few years.

The rest of the story - I had a feeling that this arrogant sob would make a gutless comment when he thought I would not be around to reply to:
SO in response to such a nice and friendly post:
this is what I sent him:
"I am interested in Butler - I have picks 5.1 and 5.8 -- maybe a combo deal of some kind?"
I do not know how you would read it but since we are in the milb draft I thought it natural to make it "part" of a deal -- I was looking for some kind of combo deal (I have a lot of younger pitchers that are pretty good) and he had expressed interest in nolasco previously - so I thought it might work.
this is what he sent back as a response:
"why would i trade u butler for that shit
can u read? "
I did not think - my pm to him rated a post like this but then again this is not the first time he has sent a post like this. right?
I sent back a blazer and I regret lowering myself to his level in sending it and subsequently apologized for. Then he adds insult to injury trying to get in one last friendly jab!
It is the arrogance of owners like this that come into a dynasty league like this - get in early - pick up a team like the red sox and then lord it over everyone else like they have really worked to build a team - that give me second thoughts over dynasty leagues like this. Believe me it is not easy being last man in and taking over a team like the Jays which had already had a lot of prime assets dealt trying to make something out of little.
Well, I tired and failed miserably!!! too many injuries and a bad trade of my own making - but I was willing to try and play out my hand and be a bottom feeder trying to make good - (I was going to leave this year but stayed at zach's request - a GREAT commish in my opinion and you are lucky to have him) HOWEVER:
it is not fun with guys like this -- I bet a few of you have ran foul of him too!!!
Well, again thanks to those good gms who were fun to play with and I hope you all have a great season but beware of the Boston Strangler!!

sure not fun to play with!

so i got married and bought a house that year.. i had other real life things to attend to (dont worry i hear gay marriages are becoming legal where u live, there is hope for u). so i let you run the league and u chased out half the GM's, ruined that league and High Heat.. for all we know youre probably Zeke and got busted..

WTF. Usually when I get sent a shitty offer I just ignore. He is right, this is supposed to be fun. Some of us are so involved that we forget that this is all pretend, and that we really are just playing around wasting time (what my wife says about it. LOL). I dont think that he deserved to be berated, but then again a little thicker skin would help to. At some point we should have just walked away. So I will ask Dave to stay, ask Kevin to refrain from responding negatively and try and move on.

Jays un- resign --- ok a bit hasty on my part - I just do not enjoy being insulted - I am not that "thin skinned" as was suggested (at 62 and having served as a Special Forces officer in Vietnam and then as a Marine Major in the Gulf War - not much rattles me - however - time is still precious to me and when something like this - that is supposed to be fun and relaxation - turns into something else - then I find it best to move on.
I have received a number of pms that make good points - I enjoy the challange of this league - by far my most challanging AND least successful at the same time. I would like to move the Jays up the ladder a "few" spots and eventually see them compete. I like most of the GMs in here - great bunch of guys - So unless the unpleasantness continues - count me back in.
Having said that - the "bottom feeder Jays" are still looking for infield -- 1B, SS and 2B in that order - I have some very good pitching I would trade for someone and even throw in a good prospect -- so Entertaining offers.
Good luck to you all this season.

Welcome back and be sure to consider the source(s) of your irritations as you open PMs from them...expect nothing in the way of maturity, courtesy or common sense and you'll likely get alot less pissed off.
btw, I say that "out loud" as I must remember to do same...but it's damn hard to do.
