Brandon Webb, FA, signed by MLB team in 2010 (option year) at $8.5M ...
If I franchise him ... I get him for one year at $8.5M? (since this is the expiration of his MLB contract)
Or can I extend him out for up to five years at $8.5M?
League rule: 14a. Players who are Franchised will take on there real life contracts up to five years of it.

You get him for the exact real life contract, in this case 1 year
The 5 year limitation is in place in case he was given a 7 year real life contract, you could only lock him in for the first 5 years

Thanks! That's kind of what I thought.
